Welp, the preview of GOTHAM just went live yesterday and I have to say it’s a hell of a trailer. Is it going to be a good show?  I’m not sure.  It has potential to go either way.

I would have liked a series kind of like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. where instead of regular folks dealing with super hero’s and aliens, the police officers have to deal with life in Gotham while Batman and psychopaths roam the streets. In other words, I would have liked a show like the comic (where I’m pretty sure the inspiration came from), Gotham Central. It would have been a really gritty show and I would have fantastic.

Here’s the breakdown of the show:

Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment and produced by Warner Bros. Television, GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. Starring Ben McKenzie (“Southland,” “The O.C.”), Donal Logue (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Terriers,” “Vikings,” “Copper”) and Jada Pinkett Smith (“The Matrix” films, “HawthoRNe”),

GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.

So my question is this: is the show about Batman or about Gordon? I don’t want to focus on Batman. I don’t want it to focus on Bruce. I want it to focus on Gordon because, let’s be real here, Gordon is a fucking badass.
